There was a new force in Professional Wrestling and its name was Pro Wrestling Excellence, and despite its young age the company had attracted wrestlers both young and old looking to make a name for themselves! One of those wrestlers was “The Nightmare Angel” Chelsea Skye, a former Olympic Hopeful turned wrestler from Chicago who had only been wrestling for a year yet was one of the first talents to sign with the company.
However, her eagerness may have led to her being thrown into the deep end, Chelsea. Alongside the rest of the roster, was competing in a one night tournament to crown the first ever champion and Chelsea was facing tough competition in round one, Kai Driscoll, Jace Koufax, Tara Ayla, TJ Alexander and William Blake Mason, a field full of veterans against one rookie, can Chelsea pull out the impossible and win her first match?

It was late out in Chicago and me and Justin had gone out for a drive, both to get me away from my nagging parents and so we could chat away from the prying ears of our sisters.
“Man, has it been a crazy couple of years or what?” I commented dryly as Justin drove along the outskirts of Chicago, my hair was still completely black at that point because I didn’t start adding red streaks until two years later. “Going from High School Graduation to training for the Olympics? It almost doesn’t feel real!”
“I know what you mean Chelsea, but we’ve both worked hard to get where we are.” Justin nodded in agreement as we came to a stop at a traffic light. “And you’ll get the gold for sure, you’re one of the most athletic girls I know, and you took to gymnastics like a fish to water.”
“Are you sure you’re not just saying that because I’m your baby sister?” I teased him as we waited for the light to turn green, me and Justin were actually the same age as we were fraternal twins, I just happened to be born a few minutes after him. “Thanks for having my back when I came out to mom and dad by the way.”
“Don’t worry about it, I never brought into their crap either.” Justin assured me as I noticed the light go green. “It shouldn’t matter if you’re with a guy or another woman, only that your happy.”
“Yeah well, at this point I’m convinced our parents just want me to crap out a grandkid so they can try to brainwash him/her!” I scoffed as we drove along not realizing that a car was speeding towards us. “I love you bro.”
“I love you too sis.” Justin said with a warm smile but before I could respond the car, which I would later find out was driven by a drunk driver, smashed into the side of the car and I blacked out.
Chelsea’s hotel room, Las Vegas, Nevada Sunday the 15th of August 2021, 11:00am
I awoke with a scream as I woke up from that damn nightmare and to this day, I’m still not sure how I survived the car crash, Justin died on impact because he was in the driver’s seat and that was where the car hit ours, but I didn’t exactly get out unscathed, for one thing my leg was so badly mangled by the crash that it was a goddamn miracle that I’m still able to compete in sports.
“Five fucking years, that’s all that drunk driver got for killing Justin.” I grumbled under my breath before glancing over at the alarm clock and realizing that I had slept in. “All because his scumbag lawyer pled down to manslaughter in the third degree, what a fucking joke.” I grumbled again before I got out of bed.
*Ten minutes later*
After I had my shower and got dressed, I started getting my late breakfast ready though having that nightmare again had soured my mood a lot, once I had eaten breakfast, I got a skype call on my computer and once I saw who it was, I sighed.
“Chloe, Toni and Liz, I’d better put a smiley face on.” I sighed before answering the call and seconds later my three older sisters appeared on screen. “Hey guys, I know I said I’d call once I was in Vegas but to be honest? It was really fucking late by the time I arrived at my hotel, and I pretty much crashed into bed.”
“That’s fine Chelsea, we’re just glad you made it in one piece.” Chloe assured me and I grinned in response, like me my sisters all had black hair though it was to varying lengths, Chloe’s was even longer than mine going down to her waist. “I take it you haven’t been corrupted by the city of sin yet then.”
“Nah, I’m like, swimming in hookers and blow right now.” I joked getting a laugh out of my three sisters. “Seriously, I literally woke up ten minutes ago, only had time to whip up a quick and easy breakfast before you guys called.”
“As long as you’re eating healthy, that’s all that matters.” Liz assured me and I had to resist the urge to roll my eyes at the oldest of my three sisters, Liz brushed some of her neck length hair behind her ear before continuing. “You did eat healthily, right?”
“Toasted bacon sandwich, wanted to cook something and I was too tired to do anything fancier than that.” I responded as I shook my head and Liz just gave me a disappointed look. “You guys haven’t told mom and dad where I am, right?”
“Don’t worry, they won’t know until they tune in for your national debut.” Toni assured me before frowning. I should’ve known better; Toni was the one who could read me the easiest. “Chelsea, is something bothering you?”
“Was it really that obvious?” I grumbled under my breath before sighing. “I had that nightmare again, about that night in the car with Justin?” I added and my three sisters lowered their heads. “Still pissed about the insultingly light sentence his killer got.”
“I know I’m studying law and all, but I doubt going over why that plea deal was necessary or the fact that a trial wouldn’t have been much better but that wouldn’t help your mood at all.” Toni admitted and I quickly nodded in agreement. “Chelsea, you know there’s nothing you could’ve done to save him, right?”
“I could’ve elected to just stay home and have my ears talked off by mom and dad, the driver probably would’ve killed someone else unless he got pulled over, but Justin would still be alive.” I countered with a grunt before reaching for my anti-depressants and holding them up to my webcam. “And I never would’ve even considered killing myself.”
“Chelsea, trust me, you’re hardly the only one who runs what if scenarios about that fateful night.” Chloe tried to assure me, and I rolled my eyes knowing what was coming next. “And look at where you are now, clearly………”
“If I hear that “God had a Plan for Me” bullshit one more fucking time I’m going to goddamn scream!” I snapped at my older sisters and Chloe stopped dead in her tracks. “And if this god really is this fucking loving and caring, he would’ve told that drunk driver to get a fucking Uber, not take Justin away from us and fuck up my Olympics dreams in the process!” I added and there was an uncomfortable silence over the skype call for a good few minutes before they hung up on me simultaneously. “They can’t be that deluded right? They have to know that I’m right about Justin’s death being part of God’s great plan is complete and utter bullshit, right?” I muttered to myself before getting up and leaving my computer. “I’d better check my Twitter feed, there’s gotta be something to lighten my mood!”

Much as I wanted to convince myself that I was in the right when I last talked to my sisters, I knew I was lying to myself.
Was it to make myself feel better? I don’t know, but once I had calmed down enough to come to my senses, I had been wrecked with guilt (and losing the Best Hair list by Denzel Porter wasn’t helping either) but I knew I needed to give them some space, thankfully I had a confidant in the wrestling industry since we went to the same training school, even if we worked for different companies we kept in touch.
Even if the current SCW Bombshell Roulette Champion was down in Oregon this week.
“Just caught Strategic Assault Chelsea.” Krystal Wolfe commented after we had said our hellos, the Aussie Bombshell was talking to me over Skype. “Seems you’ve found yourself a nice group, but you sure you don’t want to join the rest of the Go Gym Grads here in Sin City?”
“Technically I am in Sin City, just the actual city and not the promotion.” I responded as I shook my head before sighing. “Besides Krys, we’ve been over this before, if I join you guys over there I’d just get lost in the shuffle! At least in PWE I have a chance to make a real impact.”
“I guess but you know SCW’s on the lookout for new talent, and I doubt Mark or Christian would pass up a former Olympic level Gymnast turned wrestler who was trained by two Hall of Famers.” Krystal pointed out and I shook my head again. “How is your family anyway? Parents still being their usual dickish selves?”
“As bad as my folks are, they can’t compare to your dad, we both know that.” I responded and Krystal frowned before nodding reluctantly. “Besides, I haven’t spoken to them since I signed the dotted line with PWE, but I did chat with my sisters yesterday.”
“Something went wrong, didn’t it?” Krystal asked and I sighed, I really need to work on being harder to read. “Chelsea, it’s painted all over your face.”
“Just don’t go blabbing about this to Team Go?” I asked and Krystal nodded. “It was right after a nightmare about the car crash that killed Justin and nearly ended my athletics career, I don’t think I need to tell you that that put me in a bad mood, but Chloe tried telling me that it was all part of God’s plan and I snapped.”
“You said “how could it be part of God’s Plan when a better plan would’ve been to take that drunken idiot off the road” right?” Krystal sighed as she rubbed her forehead in annoyance, and I nodded. “I know you had your reasons but we both know how religious your sisters are!”
“I know! But it doesn’t make it any less true!” I countered with an annoyed grunt before running a hand through my hair. “If that drunkard had just gotten an Uber, Justin would still be alive, and we would’ve competed in the Olympics together!”
“But you wouldn’t have started your training at the Go Gym until after the Olympics had wrapped up.” Krystal pointed out and I sighed in response. “Gabriel told me that you had planned to go into wrestling after the Olympics anyway.”
“And if my family’s predictions turned out true, I would’ve been the first Olympic Gold Medallist to graduate from the Go Gym.” I added before letting out a deep breath. “I know your not the best person to ask for advice on this, but Fenris is, well, Fenris and I don’t have London Underground’s or Tempest’s contact information.”
“Hey, K is alright once you get to know him, he can just be very blunt at times, and that’s me being polite.” Krystal responded and I had to admit that that got a laugh out of me, I heard a female Greek-Australian accent from off-screen Abd assumed that it was Makayla, Krystal’s girlfriend. “Luckily, Makayla isn’t an only child and happened to be listening in, she said that your sisters haven’t given up on you yet and that she doubts that argument will cause that.”
“So, basically wait for it to blow over?” I asked and Krystal nodded. “I need to start training for my PWE debut anyway, since I’m competing in a one night tournament, I’ll need to train extra hard.”
“I thought you said that you had no expectations of winning?” Krystal asked with a raised eyebrow, and I shook my head. “Something about leaving your name on the tips of everyone’s tongues?”
“Doesn’t mean I don’t WANT to win! But since I’m one of three rookies in this thing, I feel I need to be realistic about my chances!” I pointed out and Krystal nodded once she got the idea. “I’d better go but we definitely need to catch up if PWE and SCW host shows in the same city.”
“On that, we’re agreed, and hopefully I’ll still be champ by then.” Krystal nodded in agreement as she patted her title. “See you later Chelsea.”
“See you.” I responded before Krystal hung up. “Wait for things to blow over, how hard can that be?” I wondered before I grabbed my Nintendo Switch and started gaming.

*promo time*
Welcome to my world.
“You saw my appearance at Strategic Assault, you know some of my story but not all of it, you’ll find out the rest soon enough, but I don’t think that I made it clear enough why I decided to call myself the Nightmare Angel! Michael sussed it out fairly quickly but that? Was just the tip of the iceberg, because you see, me and my parents? We haven’t seen eye to eye in years! They even had the nerve to blame ME for my brother’s death, just because he took me on a drive to get me away from them! And they wondered why on Earth I tried to kill myself? What a fucking joke!”
I said as I shook my head.
“You need to understand something, they had been gaslighting me for years because I refused to buy into their bullshit! They called me a demon with the face of an angel just because I listen to metal, they called me a disgrace to the family just because I’ve slept with other women and wasn’t ashamed off it! Me and my sisters? We get along great, I’m a lot closer to them than my asshole parents! Justin? If he was alive today, I’d bet good money that he would’ve followed me into wrestling and we were always close, I have no delusions that I’ll end up in my parents’ wills when they pass away and even if I somehow do, it’ll likely be miniscule compared to what my sisters will get!”
There is a point to this! “That is why I wrestle, for passion and for fame, to eventually be independently wealthy enough that I don’t have to worry about that, and this tournament in general is my first obstacle in the PWE! Don’t believe me? Just look at the field of competitors I’ve been thrown into in round one, Kai Driscoll, Jace Koufax, Tara Ayla, TJ Alexander and William Blake Mason! Out of my five opponents, me and TJ are the youngest and least experienced and I’m one of only two women in this match! But I knew I was throwing myself in the deep end when I signed with a brand new promotion.”
As for my opponents?
“As previously mentioned, I’m the second youngest wrestler in this match and with the exception of TJ, the rest of the field is full of veterans looking to make me look like an idiot on the way to my elimination, well, I’m going to have to be the bearer of bad news to the old farts in not only my match but the rest of the tournament, because if they underestimate me then I’ll be all to happy to send their asses flying over the top rope! Hell, it might come down to just me and TJ.”
And if that happens?
“Who knows TJ? Maybe we’ll work together to get the Old Folks Home residents out of the way first but once they are out of the way, it’s every person for themselves and whilst I did say that I’m not heading into this tournament expecting to win, it doesn’t mean I’m going to half ass it, after all, my goal was to leave my name on the tips of everyone’s tongues and if I can do that and win the whole tournament? All the better! Once I get you out of the way, I’ll be facing the winner of match three, either Zoey Madigan-Star, Ross Hanson, Betsy Granger, Holly Rhoades, Tank Ferdinand or Angel, after that?”
I asked as I shook my head.
“To be honest, I haven’t thought that far ahead because it’s going to be one of the longest nights of my wrestling career to date if I do make it that far! Are there people who I want to face in round two and beyond? Absolutely, I may get along with Ross Hanson, but he did, SOMEHOW, rank above me in Denzel Porter’s Best Hair list and Betsy Granger since that’d be a great match as well. But winning the whole thing and becoming the first Excellence Champion? Well, I did want to make a name for myself, what better way to do than to be one of the first champions?”
It’s that simple.
“Just to be clear, I’m in no way looking past Kai, Jace, TJ, Tara or William but in a tournament like this I can’t JUST focus on my match, I have to look at the bigger picture and that means getting past round one, round two and eventually the finals were I’ll hopefully meet the winner of match five to determine the very first Excellence Champion, I may not have the experience of most of the other wrestlers in Pro Wrestling Excellence but what I lack for in that, I more than make up for in grit and determination!”
And with that I decided to wrap things up.
“And that grit and determination may just be enough to see me through to the finish line and the Excellence Championship! Compared to some of the other wrestlers in this tournament I am the new kid in town, but this new kid is ready for prime time! I am the “Nightmare Angel” Chelsea Skye and in two weeks’ time I’ll start the night with a field of five opponents and end the night with one opponent standing between me and the Excellence Championship because once that bell rings, the Skye’s the Limit!”
After I did the same pose from Strategic Assault I went off to start gaming as the scene fades.
