Journal Entry 1

It was a very quiet morning in the Spencer household as Jessie Jane was seen walking down the hallway. Her purplish blue hair was tossed up in a messy bun as her eyes we're partially closed.

Jessie Jane Spencer: What time is it?

She asks herself while stumbling into the kitchen. The brightness of the lights were enough for her to close her eyes while fumbling around looking for the light switch.

Ernie Spencer: Good morning!

Ernie says in an upbeat tone.

Jessie Jane Spencer: What time is it?

Ernie Spencer: It's roughly 10:30 in the morning.

Jessie doesn't quite understand how her husband of nine years could ever be this cheerful.

Jessie Jane Spencer: You seem to be in a better mood than last night.

Ernie Spencer: You are not wrong. Last night didn't exactly go the way I had hoped after that mean encounter with that druid but today is brand new day. I got a great workout in, I fixed up the shop and managed to find the perfect book for me to read on our flight.

Jessie Jane Spencer: Flight? I thought we were going to your mom's to bring in 2022.

Ernie Spencer: That was the original plan.

Ernie begins to explain as Jessie begins to rub the gunk out of her eyes.

Ernie Spencer: Now we are going to be ringing in the new year in St. Louis, Missouri.

The moment he mentions that city, Jessie tilts her eyes up as he immediately throws his hands up.

Ernie Spencer: Before you go flying off the handle, let me remind you that I have a chance to fight for my dream once again.

Jessie takes in a deep breath as her hands move down next to her side. This is the city where Jessie's wrestling hit a massive road block after breaking her neck and collarbone in a very bad car accident. Ernie, on the other hand, has the opportunity to fight for a championship that had eluded him his entire career. A world Championship!

Jessie Jane Spencer: I thought you were in a tournament.

Ernie Spencer: nods his head This is a round one match in the tournament. My opponent though is very unique. I'm not quite sure what to make of her.

Jessie Jane Spencer: I'm sure you will be able to figure her out. You are professional gamer for crying out loud. You figured out how to beat Far Cry 5 on the hardest possible difficulty. This should be no different.

Ernie chuckles while placing his hand on the fridge handle.

Ernie Spencer: Do you want anything?

Jessie Jane Spencer: I take it you didn't make any coffee.

Ernie Spencer: I visited Dunkin' earlier while you were still sleeping.

Jessie scoffs playfully as she leans against the counter.

Jessie Jane Spencer: I'll take some orange juice.

Ernie smiles as he pulls out a full jug of orange juice. Just as he places it onto the counter, the door bell rang.

Ernie Spencer: Are you expecting someone?

Ernie asks curiously as Jessie shake her head. Ernie leaves the jug on the counter as he steps out of the kitchen and sees his mother standing outside.

Ernie Spencer: It's open mom.

Barbara Spencer, Ernie's mother, opens the front door as Rasputin greets her with his tail wagging and light barks. Ernie smiles while embracing his mother in a big bear hug.

Ernie Spencer: What are you doing here mom?

Mom: I know you guys won't be able to celebrate with me so I thought I come over and celebrate with you.

Jessie Jane Spencer: That is so sweet.

Jessie adds as she steps out of the kitchen holding a small glass of orange juice in her hand. She casually sips on it as her mother in law chuckles. Ernie has a huge grin on his face as his mother looks at him.

Mom: Have you packed for St Louis?

Ernie nods his head as Jessie is a little shocked.

Ernie Spencer: I've been packed since Christmas.

Jessie Jane Spencer: Wait a minute, you've been planning this since Christmas and yet you wait til the last minute for most things.

Ernie shrugs his shoulders.

Ernie Spencer: I told you honey. This match means a lot to me.

Jessie Jane Spencer: I didn't know you were actually serious about this match.

Ernie smiles as he looks at the small glass cabinet that holds all the championships he has won throughout his career.

Ernie Spencer: Ever since I was a little kid, I have dreamed of becoming a world champion. Victory 7 marks my first step towards my dream. I know it won't be an easy task but I am willing to go through every trial and tribulation to get what I have wanted my entire life. My first trial is finding a way around Alice.

Jessie cocks her head to the side.

Jessie Jane Spencer: Alice?

Ernie Spencer: The lady who faced Damian on the last Victory. She fought her heart out but eventually it just wasnt enough. Now am I going to underestimate her. Absolutely not. I am fully aware that I'm going to be in a fight. Alice will be looking to avenge her tough loss. I will be lucky just to survive the onslaught. Both of us, are extremely resilient so its going to take some time but I feel as though I can get the job done.

Mom: Are you prepared to go down to Wonderland?

Ernie Spencer: I'm prepared for anything she is going to through at me. If I get pulled into Wonderland then I will button mash my way through every nook and cranny to get back to reality. I don't think she is fully prepared for what awaits her. The Nerd will be the one coming out on top.
